Molly Morrow’s Photographs Featured in Western Horseman,

ProRodeo Sports News, and the Ketchpen

Ellensburg, Wash. – Images by local photographer Molly Morrow appear in national publications Western Horseman, ProRodeo Sports News, and the Rodeo Historical Society’s Ketchpen this month.

Western Horseman called on Morrow to photograph world champion barrel racer Lindsay Sears and her horse Martha, and team roper Randon Adams with his horse Diesel for the article "Top 5 Rodeo Horses of the Decade” in the magazine’s November issue.  Sears and Adams traveled throughout the Northwest in September competing in rodeos and gaining momentum for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) line-up.  While she was in the region, Sears joined Morrow at Janis and Jerry Anderson’s ranch and Bob Kelley’s arena in Ellensburg for a photo shoot. Randon Adams and his horse Diesel were photographed at Kristine and Rod Chumley’s arena in Selah, Wash.

In addition, ProRodeo Sports News featured Morrow’s photographs on the cover of its Ellensburg Rodeo issue on September 17, and its Pendleton Round-Up issue on October 1. As a Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) photographer, Morrow shoots select rodeos around the country and is a resource for national publications such as the Ketchpen, which is running her photographs in the Autumn 2010 issue. Images of team ropers JoJo LeMond and Cory Petska, team roping heeler Russell Cardoza and bareback rider Ryan Gray were taken in Cheyenne, Wyo., Pendleton, Ore., and the NFR in Las Vegas. The magazine features the PRCA contestants in the article “Young Guns Shoot for Glory”.

“It is such a delight to get to meet and work with incredible rodeo competitors and wonderful people like Lindsay Sears and Randon Adams, and a real pleasure to spend time at world-class events like these rodeos” Morrow said. “Helping to tell the stories of people, their horses and places through photography – it just doesn’t get any better than that.”

This month caps a busy year for Morrow, whose photographs of Phil and Colleen Kelleher of Kelleher Motors appeared on the home page of Reuters Online in July. She also recently finished exhibiting at the Western and Wildlife Show at the Fred Oldfield Western Heritage Center in Puyallup, Washington.

In December, Morrow will photograph the NFR in Las Vegas, providing images to The Basin Business Journal. Other publications that currently use Morrow’s images are The Competitor News and Cowboy’s Digest.

When she’s not capturing the action of the rodeo arena, Morrow can be found at her downtown Ellensburg studio, balancing portrait work – of children, graduating seniors and families – with graphic design services. She also has garnered a reputation for producing stock images of wild mustangs and working ranches and horses of Kittitas Valley.
